About Denzel Washington

Denzel Washington was born December 28, 1954 in Mount Vernon, New York.  He began acting in the late 70's with a number of television roles.  In 1981 he made his first movie role in Carbon Copy.  He had a six year stint on the television series St. Elsewhere.  In 1989 he won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in the movie Glory.  He has had huge success following this including roles in Crimson Tide, Courage Under Fire and John Q.  In 2004 he appeared in The Manchurian Candidate and in 2006 Inside Man.
