About Josh Hartnett
Joshua
Daniel Hartnett was born July 21, 1978 in San Francisco, California. He and his
three younger siblings were raised by their father, Daniel and stepmother, Molly
in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Josh attended South High School with actress
Rachael Leigh Cook. After graduation in 1996, he attended SUNY in Purchase, NY,
but in April 1997 was offered the lead role in the short-lived series
"Cracker." Josh then did small plays and commercials, eventually
landing parts in such blockbusters as "Pearl Harbor" and "Black
Hawk Down," along with a starring role in "Halloween H2O." He
returned to Minneapolis, where he dated his childhood sweetheart Ellen Fenster
for a number of years. The couple bought a $2.5 million home together there, but
split in early 2004. In 2006 he appeared in Lucky
Number Slevin.
