About Katie Holmes
Katie Holmes was born December 18, 1978 in Toledo, Ohio. She began attending modeling school while a teenager and when she was sixteen began participating in modeling contests. At seventeen she began auditioning for movie roles and on her second audition landed a role in The Ice Storm in 1997. Then in 1998 she got a role on the television series Dawson's Creek in the role of Josephine 'Joey' Potter. Her first leading role came in 2002 with Abandon, and she also appeared in Phone Booth in 2002, Pieces of April in 2003 First Daughter in 2004 and Batman Begins in 2005. She is married to Tom Cruise.
