Britney
Spears Tells Real Love Story With Reality TV Show
4/5/05
Pop beauty Britney Spears is fighting against false tabloid rumors
about herself by launching a reality TV show documenting her relationship
with husband Kevin Federline - to show her fans the truth.
American TV network UPN have bought six episodes of the untitled
series, which consists of videotape footage shot by the "Toxic"
star and Federline, which tells the story of their courtship, engagement
and wedding.
The golden couple will executive produce and host the show, by
providing voice-over material explaining what's happening in each
half-hour episode and the hour-long finale focusing on their surprise 18
September (04) wedding day.
Spears explains, "From the day that Kevin and I met, there have
been constant rumors and inaccurate speculation about our lives together.
I feel that last year the tabloids ran my life and I am really excited
about showing my fans what really happened rather than all the stories,
which have been misconstrued by journalists in the past.
"As I mentioned before, I am now going to be expressing my
personal life through art."
Federline adds, "It is a documentation of love."
UPN Entertainment spokeswoman Dawn Ostroff says, "The skein will
give Spears and Federline the chance to tell their love story their way.
They'll tell viewers, 'This is when we first met,' or 'This is when we
started dating.'
"I don't think there's anything sugar-coated about this. It's
pretty raw and pretty real. I don't think (viewers) have ever been exposed
to people being so honest and open about their lives."
Viacom music channels MTV and VH1 are planning to re-run the show after
the UPN premiere of the eagerly-awaited program next month (MAY05).
