Ordered to Give DNA in Nicole Kidman Bugging Case
4/7/05
Police investigating the alleged bugging of Nicole Kidman's Australian
home will given a DNA sample from the accused celebrity photographer
following a fresh court order.
Sydney's Waverley Local Court magistrate Lee Gilmour yesterday
(06MAR05) ordered photographer Jamie Fawcett to provide a sample of his
DNA after investigators said they want to compare it with two sets of DNA
found on the listening device.
A bug was found outside the actress' home in Sydney on 23 January (05)
during a search by her security staff.
Fawcett, who hasn't been charged with any offence, had earlier refused
to give police a DNA sample. His lawyer, Paul Russer, says Fawcett plans
to appeal.
Kidman, 37, was granted a restraining order against Fawcett and another
Sydney photographer, Ben McDonald, after claiming the pair hounded her
earlier this year (05). The order was later lifted. |
