Hilary Duff Buys New Dog a $50 Dress  4/8/05

Teen pop beauty Hilary Duff is so enamored with her new pet dog Lola, she bought the canine a $50 (#26) Lucille Ball-inspired dress.

The 17-year-old singer is so proud of her little pooch's green frock - complete with a fake diamond on the back - she took Lola onto the set of US chat show The View yesterday morning (07APR05) for everybody to see.

She says, "I'm a pet lunatic... That dress was 50 bucks. But she's a princess. I think it looks like the I Love Lucy dress.

"I feel kind of like I'm torturing her, though."

Duff, who has owned Lola for three months, is currently a guest host on The View, filling in for regular presenter Elisabeth Hassleback, who is on maternity leave.
