Alicia Silverstone Struggles With Beauty Shop Training  4/10/05

Alicia Silverstone struggled to prepare for her latest role in Beauty Shop because she lacks the necessary flair to work in a real-life salon. The 28-year-old blonde star trained alongside actresses Queen Latifah and Mena Suvari in preparation for their parts in the comedy - but found her co-stars were much more adept at performing hair cuts and beauty treatments. 

Silverstone says, "Honestly, I think I had attention deficit disorder. I just couldn't keep my focus in there. I'm really good at head massages but they didn't teach me that. "I did learn how not to get water everywhere, though, when you're washing clients' hair. And I learned how to put the cape on with the towel. Even that's an art. "But mostly what I really learned is that I don't like doing hair."
