Ashton Kutcher's Dashed Punk'd Hopes for Pope 4/21/05

Ashton Kutcher regrets that he didn't use the recent death of Pope John Paul II and the selection of his successor as a prime prank opportunity for his hit show Punk'd.

The Hollywood heart-throb, who has fooled countless celebrities with his hidden-camera show, admits he would've enjoyed using The Vatican's recent flurry of activity as a backdrop for a prank.

He says, "We should've moved Punk'd to Italy, because I think it would be funny for me to like come out of the curtain like, 'Ahh, you got Punk'd!' And then bring the other old Pope out and go, 'Look, he's still alive! We got ya!'

"But it kinda bummed me out. I didn't think of it in time and so we couldn't make it to Italy."
