Ashton Kutcher Hopes to Break Romantic Comedy Mold  4/21/05

Hollywood heart-throb Ashton Kutcher is hoping his new movie A Lot Like Love will break the romantic comedy genre's mould with its unique approach. 

The Butterfly Effect star has featured in several stereotypical films dealing with young love, so he relished the opportunity to work with director Nigle Cole - because the film-maker wasn't afraid to lavish novel touches on his project. 

Kutcher, 27, tells Page Six, "Nigel isn't afraid of silence. He's not afraid of the moment. He allows the story to develop. You don't see that in this kind of movie. "And, this is one of the few romantic comedies that isn't based on a lie. You know, there's no mean spirited-ness. I know, I've done my fair share of those!"
