Russell Crowe Slams Indonesia Over Alleged Cannabis Smuggler  4/25/05

Russell Crowe has leapt to the defense of an Australian woman arrested by Indonesian police for allegedly smuggling cannabis.

The Gladiator star was outraged when he heard Schapelle Corby, 27, was facing the possibility of life imprisonment.

And he insists the situation is an insult considering the amount of money Australia has donated to Indonesia since the tsunami struck in December (04).

Crowe fumes, "We just gave Indonesia how many hundreds of millions of dollars in tsunami relief?

"We're not disrespecting (Indonesia's) laws or anything but in our minds we think there is a massive doubt here."
