Eva Longoria Joins Women's Festival Board  4/27/05

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has joined the board of a new Los Angeles-based festival aimed at celebrating the achievements of women in film.

The Board Of Directors for the La Femme Film Festival was confirmed today (27APR05), and bosses announced sexy Longoria as the celebrity member, following her phenomenal rise to success in the TV hit.

Organizers hope the festival - which takes place at the LA Center Studios from 27-29 May (05) - will increase the number of female writers, directors and producers working in the notoriously male-dominated industry.

And bosses are convinced Longoria's involvement will bolster the event's profile.

Leslie LaPage, president and founder of LA Femme Film Festival, says, "We are thrilled to have secured an actress of Ms Longoria's caliber as a part of this year's festival.

"Her zest promises to make this a memorable and entertaining event."
