American Idol Controversy Changes Odds  4/30/05

Bo Bice's stock drops after news of past arrests

LOS ANGELES, CA, April 30 /PRNewswire/ - Sportsbook.com has revised its American Idol odds after today's latest development; competitor Bo Bice was revealed to have two past drug-related arrests. While producers have not disqualified Bice from the Reality Show, his odds to win the competition have plummeted.

Prior to today's news, Bice was second behind Carrie Underwood as the favorite to take home the American Idol crown, with odds of 14-5. Bice now sits third with odds at 9-2. Underwood is still the favorite at 5-6. The other three competitors remaining in the field also benefited from the controversy, especially Vonzell Solomon, who now has better odds than Bice, at 3-1. Anthony Fedorov and Scott Savol also saw their odds improve to 8-1 and 25-1 respectively.

"The Sportsbook.com team was shocked to hear about this news and has worked hard to revise the odds based on how we think the betting public may react." said Peter Childs, Odds Maker, Sportsbook.com.
