Catherine Zeta Jones Stalker Freed  4/24/06

Actress Catherine Zeta Jones is stepping up her home security after a woman convicted of stalking her was freed from jail last month (22MAR06) after serving just eight months behind bars.

Dawnette Knight harbored an obsessive crush on Zeta-Jones' husband, actor Michael Douglas, and threatened to "slice up" Jones and "feed her to the dogs". The troubled 35-year-old now lives in Los Angeles, just 25 miles (40 kilometers) from Zeta-Jones and Douglas' family home. 

Douglas says, "It's scary. Particularly with kids, it's scary," He adds the couple have taken "normal security precautions that make sense". 

Knight was sentenced to three years in prison last July (05) and freed on 22 March (06) after US authorities took into account the time she served prior to trial.
