Nick Cannon: "I Didn't Copy Diddy"  4/26/06

Actor Nick Cannon has dismissed claims rap mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs inspired his Mohawk haircut, insisting he took on the new style for his latest film role.

The star, who once dated Christina Milian, is working on a sequel to soccer film Goal! with England player David Beckham and chose the style because of it's popularity among sports stars.

Cannon tells MTV, "I'm not doing the Diddy. Shouts to Diddy because he did make the Mohawk thing cool.

"I'm doing a movie with David Beckham in Spain, and I play a young soccer player who's real flashy. So that's where the Mohawk came in."
