New Dad Tom Cruise Accomplished Premiere Mission  4/25/06

Hollywood star Tom Cruise made a mad dash to attend the world premiere of his latest film Mission: Impossible III last night (24APR06), after his fiancée Katie Holmes convinced him she could cope with their newborn daughter Suri alone.

Ecstatic Cruise took time out from his "diaper-duty" to fly to Rome to join co-stars Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Monaghan and Keri Russell at the premiere, before boarding a plane back to California to be reunited with six day old Suri.

When Holmes gave birth to the young tot on last Tuesday (18APR06), Cruise cancelled promotional activities for the action sequel to spend more time with the new arrival. However, Cruise decided at the last minute to fly to Italy after encouragement from Holmes.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Cruise said, "My own Mission: Impossible was getting here. That was the Mission Impossible. Because it kept going back and forth.

"I wasn't going to come and then Kate said, you know, 'Go. Go.' So I'm here.

And I'll be here for a few hours and then I'll get back on an airplane and go back home to Kate and Suri.

"My daughter has just been born and I want to be close to her. I thought about not coming to Rome, but Kate said go and have fun."

Despite Cruise's promise to return to Holmes, English radio stations have been reporting Cruise will remain in Europe for another night to attend the London premiere tonight (25APR06).
