Miley Cyrus Signs Record Deal  4/28/06

Achy Breaky Heart singer Billy Ray Cyrus' daughter is set to follow in her famous father's footsteps after scoring a record deal.

Miley Cyrus has been showing off her singing skills as the star of the Disney Channel's new hit US series Hannah Montana, and her voice has earned her a music contract.

She says, "I just signed with Hollywood Records, so singing is going to take a big part of the future."

The younger Cyrus already does her own singing on the show and will be featured on the series soundtrack, which will be released this summer (06).

She adds, "I'm singing on every song. I'll also be doing a little bit of touring."

Billy Ray plays Miley's father on the show and the whole family relocated from Nashville, Tennessee, to Los Angeles, where the series is filmed.
