Mills Jumps for Joy on Anniversary of Surgery 4/5/07
Heather Mills literally jumped for joy on Monday night's (02APR06)
Dancing With the Stars tv show in America - because the program fell on
the one-year anniversary of her painful revision amputation.
The celebrity amputee kicked off her performance on the dance contest
by jumping from a stage and jiving on a specially-made prosthetic leg, and
she admits that alone was the furthest thing from her mind as she
underwent painful surgery on 2 April, 2006.
She explains, "It was a year to that date that I had my revision
amputation, and the doctor that did it came to the show and he was so
excited that he'd contributed hugely to me being able to dance.
"A year ago I was in so much pain; I had muscle tissue wastage and
pain...
and he just took about two inches off, ground it down, made a base so
that I could actually move on it without being in pain... so he got very
emotional.
"It was like a milestone. A year ago I was having this big
operation and there I am dancing."
