Once again the phone lines were burning up with voters sealing the fate of one of the remaining nine contestants. Nearly 33 million votes were cast (just think if our politicians could generate that much excitement) and the bottom three were: Phil Stacey, Gina Glocksen and Haley Scarnato. Who was sent back home? Of those three it should have been Phil who bored us with his last night’s rendition of “Night and Day.” But instead Gina was given the ax. Last night she gave an incredible performance but I guess it was not enough for the voters. And this woman is a real trooper as her farewell song was very appropriate “Smile though your heart is aching.” I will miss Gina.

Next week we will hear from the final eight contestants and let us fervently hope that the voters will make their decision based upon talent.
