Salma Hayek Launches Latin Production Company  4/11/07

Ugly Betty star Salma Hayek has teamed up with Hollywood studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer to launch a production company promoting Latin films.

The pregnant Mexican beauty, 40, will head new company Ventanazul, in an effort to make Latin movies more appealing to a mass audience and to help native film fans feel "proud" of their culture.

She says, "(This is) an amazing opportunity to draw upon the entire range of ways the Latin world can contribute to the film industry."
