“One More Down”

You can certainly tell that American Idol is a very popular show. How? Because they have expanded what should be a short 30-minute show telling us who was voted out, into an hour-long drawn out ordeal. Kind of like a taffy pull. Why? Simply to gain more income from the commercials. And we the captured audience is forced to sit, watch and wait for those results of over 35 million votes.

Okay, now on to whom was sent home with a suitcase full of memories. But first the bottom three included Chris Richardson, Haley Scarnato and Phil Stacey. Phil was no surprise after last night’s dismal performance. And Chris performed only slightly better.

Long legged Haley has been the weakest of the female performers and does not come close to the abilities of Melinda Doolittle, LaKisha Jones. or Jordin Sparks. And then it was announced that Chris was ‘safe’ and his relief was very evident. That left Haley and Stacey to hear the vote decision. And the one going back home is Haley. Does she have a future as a singer? Probably yes, but not in any shape a major star such as Jennifer Lopez who performed this evening. Why? Because Jennifer “feels” her music and Haley just “sings” her music.
