Tom Hanks Will be Top Hollywood Earner  4/17/07

Tom Hanks will become the highest paid actor in Hollywood history when he stars in a follow up to The Da Vinci Code.

Columbia Pictures has reportedly agreed to pay Hanks between $29 million and $49 million to appear in Angels and Demons, based on an earlier Dan Brown book. Hanks was paid $25 million for the earlier movie.

Hanks will reprise the role of Robert Langdon in Angels and Demons, which is set before the Da Vinci Code.

Jim Carrey was the previous top earning actor, collecting $39million  for his role in Cable Guy in 1996.
