Ryan Warns Against Fame
4/24/07
Actress Meg Ryan has warned wannabe stars to be wary of fame, because
"there's no real upside" to becoming a celebrity.
The 45-year-old star, who first found fame in the late 1980s, insists
having a recognizable face can be distressing at times.
She says, "When I first because famous, it was kind of traumatizing,
actually. You just constantly feel like you're getting hit.
"I would say there's no real upside to fame. No really measurable
one.
There's money, but that doesn't necessarily come along with fame.
"People always say that they can get dinner reservations, but,
come on, you could always figure out some other way to get dinner
reservations."
