"The
Biggest Loser" Trainer Jillian Michaels to Guest Star on "Days
of our Lives" 4/1/08
BURBANK – March 31, 2008 – Are the residents of Salem ready to get
in shape?
Jillian Michaels, the tough-loving trainer from NBC's "The Biggest
Loser," will find out when she guest-stars on NBC's popular daytime
drama "Days of our Lives" on Tuesday, April 22 (1-2 p.m. in most
markets).
On Michaels' episode of "Days of our Lives," Salem residents
Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), E.J. Wells (James Scott), Nicole Walker
(Arianne Zucker) and Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers) are at the Salem
Health Club getting in shape. Sami and Nicole are bickering by the
treadmills and E.J. is trying to control them when Maggie and "The
Biggest Loser" trainer Michaels come out of their training session.
Maggie is not a fan of Nicole and begins a heated discussion with her,
which soon involves Michaels. Michaels quickly picks up on Nicole's
insecurities and she informs Nicole that she's not in as good shape as she
thinks -- and Nicole is insulted. Michaels continues speaking with Maggie
and before she leaves offers Sami and Nicole a chance to train with her. A
chance that agreeable Sami is already on board with but Nicole is unsure.
"The Biggest Loser's" trainer Jillian Michaels, is a trainer
and life coach as well as a successful fitness book author. Michaels'
first book "Winning By Losing: Drop the Weight, Change Your
Life," was inspired by her success on "The Biggest Loser"
and then led to her most recent book, now on the New York Times
Best-selling list, "Making the Cut: The 30-Day Diet and Fitness Plan
for the Strongest, Sexiest You." "Making the Cut" focuses
on the most efficient and healthy way to lose weight within a 30-day time
frame. Michaels' new DVD, "30 Day Shred" is also available in
stores now.
Michaels' passion for fitness training originates from 17 years of
martial arts practice in Muay Thai and Akarui-Do, in which she holds a
black belt. During that time she has helped shape and inspire the lives of
millions and encourages a fitness regimen with an emphasis in
strength-training modalities that can be transferred from the gym to daily
life. Michaels gets her clients to achieve their results through
kickboxing, yoga, Pilates, plyometrics, and weight training.
Michaels lives in Los Angeles with her Chihuahua dog, Baxter. When
she's not on the TV set, she enjoys traveling and getting involved in
charitable activities.
NBC's "Days of our Lives" celebrated its 42nd year on the air
in November 2007 and has already garnered numerous Emmy Awards and
nominations, as well as multiple "Soap Opera Digest" and
"People's Choice" Awards. The show's success derives from its
consistent commitment to excellence in writing and storytelling --
supported by a diverse ensemble of performers -- and an uncanny knack for
anticipating viewer interests. Set in the fictitious Midwestern town of
Salem, the core families, the Hortons and the Bradys, are part of an
eternal saga that can include anything from demonic possessions and serial
killers to genre traditions such as baby switches, amnesia and classic
love triangles.
"Days of our Lives" is produced by Corday Productions, Inc.,
in association with Sony Pictures Television.
