Kate Beckinsale Still Wants to be Sexy On Screen  4/2/08

Kate Beckinsale was horrified by recent reports she is giving up raunchy film roles - insisting she still wants to be sexy onscreen.

The British actress, who romped nude in vampire movie Underworld, last month (Mar08) revealed she is embarrassed by some of the roles she has taken on.

She said, "The sex-bomb thing is totally fun but you want to take the red shoes off sometimes. I've been wanting to do something more dramatic."

But the 34-year-old insists that doesn't mean she's hanging up her sex symbol status for good.

Her publicist Leslie Sloane insists, "She welcomes playing a wide range of roles with good material - sexy, comedic, serious drama, etc."
