“Another Idol Falls”

April 16, 2008 Results Show

The fans have once again spoken by casting over 36 million votes. Who were in the bottom three? And more importantly, who is leaving the show? Ryan divided the seven hopefuls into two groups. On his right were David Cook, Kristy Lee Cook, and Brooke White. On his left were Jason Castro, Carly Smithson, and Syesha Mercado.

Left standing alone back stage was young David Archuleta. Then we went to a long boring series of commercials. When we returned to live TV, Ryan announced a temporary suspension of the eliminations (like, duh, no one had been eliminated) and there sat the six on chairs with David Archuleta among them. It was then that Mariah Carey was introduced to sing for us. But what about the seven? And who were in the bottom three? After Mariah had finished singing, David Archuleta was again back stage but was quickly called forward and crowned “you are safe.” Now stay with me because Ryan had David Cook swap places with Syesha and then announced that the bottom three were Syesha, Kristy Lee and Brooke. Syesha was spared the ax and declared “safe.”

It was then down to Kristy Lee and Brooke. And as predicted by yours truly, Kristy Lee was given her walking papers and sent home. Her departure, especially after her dismal and forgettable performance last night, was no surprise.

So there you have it. We are down to the final Idol Six. And don’t forget to return here next week for my review of those remaining contestants. Why? Because I write it just for you.
