PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH MAKES A SPECIAL APPEARANCE ON MONDAY'S
TWO-HOUR "DEAL OR NO DEAL" TO SALUTE PURPLE HEART AND BRONZE
STAR CAPTAIN
BURBANK--April 18, 2008-Surprises are in store on NBC's "Deal or
No Deal" for one lucky contestant on Monday, April 21 (8-10 p.m. ET)
when President George W. Bush makes a special appearance to give a message
to Captain Joseph Kobes from Sumner, Washington. A Purple Heart and Bronze
Star recipient who has served in Iraq three times, Kobes is hoping to win
big money to help pay off his parent's house.
A true selfless American hero, Captain Kobes has volunteered for the
last two deployments, risking his life with every mission. After his truck
was blown up in 2004, he received a Purple Heart for his injuries, but
that never stopped him. Kobes once again re-signed with the Army for three
more years and can proudly say that he has never lost a soldier under his
command.
Also playing in Monday's episode is LeTia Soney from McKinney, Texas,
an energetic kickboxing instructor who gets her shot at the top prize of
one million dollars. After both Kobes and Soney have played their
individual games, they each get to spin the Deal Wheel that could either
double or triple their earnings, or they could have the misfortune of
cutting their winnings in half. This also marks the first episode when
viewers can help choose a new "Deal or No Deal" model for next
season with a chance to win $10,000.
Hosted by Howie Mandel ("Hidden Howie"), "Deal or No
Deal" is an exhilarating hit game show from Endemol USA, the
producers of NBC's "Fear Factor" and "Extreme Makeover:
Home Edition." Contestants on the show play for a top prize of $1
million in a high-energy match of nerves, instincts and raw intuition.
Based on the successful format from Endemol that has aired in over 50
countries, "Deal or No Deal" is produced by Endemol USA, a
division of Endemol Holding. David Goldberg is the president of Endemol
USA. The series is executive-produced by Scott St. John.
