Edie Falco Refused Sopranos Cast Sympathy With Secret Cancer  4/30/08

The Sopranos star Edie Falco kept her 2003 cancer battle a secret from her fellow castmates because she couldn't bear their sympathy.

The 44-year-old actress was given the all-clear from breast cancer in 2004, but didn't want to tell her co-stars as their well-wishes would have "driven (her) crazy".

She tells Health magazine, "I kept my diagnosis under the radar, even from the cast and crew, because well-meaning people would have driven me crazy asking, 'How are you feeling?' I would have wanted to say, 'I'm scared, I don't feel so good, and my hair is falling out!'
