ACTOR EDDIE MURPHY'S WIFE FILES FOR DIVORCE

BURBANK, Calif. - August 5, 2005 -"Access Hollywood" is reporting that actor Eddie Murphy's wife of 12 years, Nicole, has filed for divorce. The story airs on "Access Hollywood," Friday, August 5, 2005 (check local listings for time and station).

Today, Murphy's wife Nicole filed for divorce in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable difference and seeking joint custody of their children, "Access Hollywood" has learned. The actor issued the following statement to "Access Hollywood," "The welfare of our children is our main concern and their best interests are our first priority."

Murphy married Nicole Mitchell on March 18, 1993. They have five children together, Bella Zahra, Bria, Shayne Audra, Zola Ivy and Miles Mitchell. Murphy also has another son, Christian, with Tamara Moore.
