Lulu: "Loneliness Made Britney Spears Marry"  8/8/05

Scottish singer Lulu understands the loneliness and stress caused by an early rise to fame - and she's convinced that's why Britney Spears and Kevin Federline at the tender age of 22 last year (04).

The 56-year-old shot to fame aged 15 with her catchy debut single Shout, so she understands the pressure Spears suffered being in the public eye from the age of 11, in children's TV show The All New Mickey Mouse Club.

And Lulu believes Spears lost friends due to her fame, so married Federline because she was desperate for a long-term companion.

She says, "Britney Spears? No wonder she has got married. She wants somebody for herself - it gets lonely being a star at that age."
