Nick Lachey Confronts Jessica Simpson Over Tabloid Report  8/8/05

Nick Lachey is becoming so affected by the negative stories printed about him in the tabloids, he recently confronted his wife Jessica Simpson about her manager dad Joe.

The pop couple have been at the center of relentless reports that their marriage is on the rocks, and one story ended up proving particularly tough for Lachey to deal with.

Joe explains, "When it's in print, America believes it's true. Even if they know (otherwise). You can't get over what's in print. Even if you know, you still can't get over it.

"They ran an article that said that I was running around trying to get rid of Nick because he was standing in the way of Jessica's career.

"And Nick calls Jessica and says, 'Why is your daddy doing that?' She was like, 'Nick, Daddy's not doing that!' I called Nick and said it's not happening, but you can't help it when it's in the papers."
