Katie Holmes Hits Back at Tom Cruise Critics  8/16/05

Loved-up actress Katie Holmes is horrified fiancé Tom Cruise has become a figure of intense ridicule since spectacularly declaring his love for her on US chat show The Oprah Winfrey Show in May (05). 

The Batman Begins beauty was charmed by Cruise's uninhibited display of adoration - which saw him jumping up and down furniture, pounding the floor with his fist and exclaiming, "I'm in love" between shouts of manic laughter. And she proud he can freely express himself in a world of superficial friendliness. 

She says, "I find it hard to know why people wouldn't want to believe that he was just so happy that day and didn't want to act cool and hide his feelings. "I was proud of him that he was willing to let his guard down."
