Angelina Jolie Takes on Another Maternal Role  8/22/05

Angelina Jolie is set to get maternal once again, after signing up to play the mother of the monster Grendel in the movie adaptation of the classic epic poem Beowulf.

Jolie, who recently gave her four-year-old adopted son Maddox a new sibling when she took custody of Ethiopian orphan Zahara, recently raised eyebrows when she played the unlikely mother of Colin Farrell's lead character in last year's (04) Alexander.

And now she's taking up motherly duties again in director Robert Zimeckis' big screen adaptation of Beowulf, which mixes live action with animation.

Crispin Glover will play Grendel, while Ray Winstone will portray title character Beowulf.
