Monica Bellucci Thrilled With Motherhood But Happy to be a Woman  8/24/05

Italian movie star Monica Bellucci feels like an independent woman again now her baby girl Deva is getting older - because breastfeeding reduced her to being simply a mother.

The sexy actress insists she's ready to play a bad girl again in the kind of controversial roles which have helped make her name after taking months getting used to her primary role as a mother.

She says, "I'm back to a normal woman now because I was breastfeeding for four months so I wasn't a woman. I was just a mother.

"I did a movie with Gerard Bepardieu when Deva was three-months-old and she was on set with me and I was breast-feeding every two hours.

"I think I did good acting but I was so into the breastfeeding and it's just so beautiful. I felt so complete and so full.

"It (motherhood) happened at the right time of my life. I'm sure if I was pregnant 10 years ago it would be a disaster because I wasn't ready."
