Soul great Diana Ross is in negotiations to re-record the soundtrack to hit movie Mahogany, in which she starred, in a bid to help pal Lionel Richie's daughter Nicole become a film star.

The Simple Life star is keen to remake the classic 1975 movie and she wants to play the role Ross made famous, as a hopeful designer.
