Angelina Jolie to Take Legal Action  8/31/05

Mr and Mrs Smith star Angelina Jolie is poised to sue a British tabloid newspaper over reports her adopted daughter Zahara Marley is not an orphan.

British newspaper The Sun last week (begs22AUG05) published an interview with 18-year-old Mentewab Dawit who claimed to be the baby's natural mother.

Dawit said she loved the baby but was forced to have her adopted when she couldn't afford to feed her.

But the actress, who already has one adopted son Maddox, 4, insists Zahara's mother is dead and has consulted London based solicitors, Schillings.

Jolie's solicitor confirms, "I've not yet been issued with instructions to commence legal actions. But I am speaking to her again this afternoon."

A spokesman for The Sun says, "We have not been notified of any legal action against us and we stand by the story absolutely."
