American Idol star Katharine McPhee fractured her foot after falling backstage at the Bobcats Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Tuesday night (01AUG06).

The brave singer refused to cancel her Idol Tour performance and sang two songs while wearing slippers.

The 22-year-old brunette was taken to a local hospital following the gig, where doctors discovered a hairline fracture following X-rays.

RCA Records spokesman Roger Widynowski tells the New York Post, "She's in discomfort, but she's fine.

"She will continue on the tour and is not defaulting."

The fracture is the latest health problem to affect McPhee, who missed weeks of the Idol Tour after contracting bronchitis and laryngitis.
