Lionel Richie Recruits Daughter for Video  8/3/06

Pop star Lionel Richie was close to giving up the search for a sexy Hollywood star to cast in his latest music video, until friends pointed out his daughter Nicole would be perfect.

The singer was seeking a glitzy personality to feature in the promo for I Call it Love, but it took a music executive pal to point out how ideal The Simple Life star would be.

He explains, "We were looking for a Hollywood-type personality for the starring role.

"We kept talking about who would be MTV-friendly, and (music executive) La Reid called me and said, 'What are we doing? She's in your house!'"

Nicole shot the video in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills last month (JUL06) and even has a steamy kissing scene with CSI: Miami star Adam Rodriguez.

This isn't the first time The Simple Life star has appeared in one of her father's videos, although she was considerably younger when she last hit the screen with her dad.

She adds, "I was in my dad's videos for Love, Oh Love (in 1992) and Ballerina Girl (1986), so this is fun!"
