Christina Aguilera Missed Father Figure at Her Wedding  8/8/06

Christina Aguilera regretted not having a father figure to accompany her down the aisle when she wed husband Jordan Bratman last November (05) - because she was a nervous wreck.

The singer has been estranged from her biological father Fausto for years and couldn't think of a suitable person to give her away when she wed - so she went solo.

She recalls, "When it came time to walk down the aisle, I was shaking, and I realized how amazing it would've felt to have a man holding my arm to give me away to this next man in my life.

"That was the first time I felt or maybe ever needed a father figure."

Aguilera hopes her own daughter will never have to go through the same dilemma.

She adds, "At the end of (new song) The Right Man, I say, 'One day, my little girl will reach out her hand (and) she'll know I found the right man."
