Uma Thurman Gives Up on Marriage But Not on Love  8/13/06

Uma Thurman has given up on marriage after two failed attempts, but she's on the lookout for love and would consider a toy boy.

The actress married Gary Oldman in 1990, when she was just 19. The union lasted just two years. She then split from second husband, Ethan Hawke, in July 2004 after six years of marriage.

The Pulp Fiction actress insists she has learned enough from the two unions to put her off marriage for life, saying, "I think I've got the message that marriage doesn't work for me."

Although Thurman is open to the possibility of a younger lover in the future, right now she would prefer an older man who is prepared to take on a 36-year-old mother of two.

She adds, "I know women who have toy boys - and I could grow into that. But for now I prefer to be with someone I can look to for help, guidance and support or superior wisdom.

"Let's face it, who wants to date a famous woman? Any half-bright man would go for a nice, good-looking woman. I try to think of myself as anonymous and a working mum who tries hard to balance both jobs."
