Aguilera Has No Regrets Over Millions Spent on Wedding
8/15/06
Pop star Christina Aguilera has no regrets about spending $2 million on
her wedding to marketing executive Jordan Bratman, because she never
thought she would actually tie the knot.
The Beautiful singer's traumatic past forced her to become fiercely
independent and focused on her career, at the expense of personal
relationships.
She tells Allure magazine, "I was never one of those girls who
couldn't wait to be married, who couldn't wait for the white dress.
"That was so not me. I always felt my career was first. Nothing
was going to distract me. That's another reason I just never thought I'd
be married at 25."
The star spared no expense when it came to her nuptials, splashing out
on a Christian Lacroix couture gown with a long ruffled train and a rosary
studded with diamonds.
The ceremony was held at a Napa Valley, California, estate last
November (05) in a newly built Renaissance-style temple with a
hand-painted ceiling.
Aguilera wanted a winter theme and had chandeliers covered in crystal
strands, and tables strewn with flowers dipped in silver glitter.
She even hired a 17-piece orchestra to play At Last, a song her idol
Etta James made famous, so she could serenade her groom.
The Ain't No Other Man star adds, "Ok, it was somewhat over the
top, but I'm not one to look at the cost of everything!"
