Kevin Federline credits his wife Britney Spears with giving him a healthy dose of reality when he gets too excited about his latest hip-hop track.

Federline is on the verge of releasing his debut single Lose Control and will make his first live performance at America's Teen Choice Awards on Sunday (20AUG06).

And he is grateful to the Toxic singer for always being brutally honest about his musical creations. He says, "She gives me her real opinions about my tunes.

"When I get really excited about songs she would tell me to slow down. She's my biggest critic."
