JESSE McCARTNEY RETURNS TO "ALL MY CHILDREN" WITH FELLOW
HOLLYWOOD RECORDS RECORDING ARTIST JORDAN PRUITT
Special Episodes Air on Friday, September 8 and Tuesday, September 12
Jesse McCartney returns to ABC's "All My Children," playing
himself and not the role of JR Chandler, which he played from 1998-2001,
it was announced today by Brian Frons, president, Daytime, Disney, ABC
Television Group. The episodes will air on September 8 and 12 on "All
My Children."
The storyline has teen rivals Colby (Ambyr Childers) and Sydney (Taylor
Gildersleeve) celebrating their sweet 16 birthday parties together. During
the festivities, the two girls are treated to special appearances by Jesse
McCartney and Jordan Pruitt. Both Hollywood Records recording artists will
perform their hit songs "Right Where You Want Me" and
"Outside Looking In," respectively.
Jesse McCartney will release his eagerly anticipated new album,
"Right Where You Want Me," on September 19. This is McCartney's
follow up to his platinum debut, "Beautiful Soul."
Jordan Pruitt's video for her debut single, "Outside Looking
In," is currently in rotation on the Disney Channel and is featured
in the Disney Channel movie "Read It And Weep."
"All My Children" celebrated its 36th Anniversary on January
5, 2006. The program has successfully maintained its popularity and
continues to be one of daytime's most compelling dramas. "All My
Children" took home the 1998 Emmy(r) Award for Outstanding Daytime
Drama Series, the third time the show received this top honor, having also
garnered the award in 1994 and 1992. In 2004 the show also received its
third consecutive Emmy(r) Award for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series
Writing, its third Writers Guild Award and its third GLAAD Media Award in
April of 2004.
Created by Agnes Nixon, "All My Children" premiered on the
ABC Television Network on January 5, 1970, as a half-hour show; seven
years later it expanded to an hour. Julie Hanan Carruthers is executive
producer, Megan McTavish is head writer, with Conal O'Brien, Casey Childs
and Angela Tessinari directing. "All My Children" is produced in
New York and airs MONDAY-FRIDAY (1:00-2:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC
Television Network.
