American Idol Star Mikalah Gordon Recovering After Las Vegas Robbery  8/25/06

Former American Idol contestant Mikalah Gordon was left shaken after being robbed at gunpoint near the Las Vegas, Nevada strip.

The 18-year-old singer and a male friend were on a pavement in a neighborhood just west of the strip early on Wednesday (23AUG06) when they were accosted.

Gordon reached the finals of the American Idol talent competition last year (05) and is originally from Las Vegas, but now lives in Los Angeles.

According to her mother Victoria Cavaricci, "She's not physically harmed, but she's in a panic."

Thieves reportedly escaped with a mobile phone and five dollars. Las Vegas police have confirmed the robbery and are investigating.
