Nicole Richie: "Yes, I'm Pregnant"  8/1/07

The Simple Life star Nicole Richie has finally confirmed she is pregnant with her rocker boyfriend Joel Madden's child.

The socialite daughter of soul star Lionel Richie has for weeks refused to corroborate or deny reports she's expecting a baby with her Good Charlotte boyfriend of nine months.

But in an interview to air on TV show Good Morning America on Thursday (02Aug07), Richie, accompanied by Madden, says, "Yes I am (pregnant). We are.

I'm almost four months."

The news comes just days after Richie pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs on Friday (28Jul07). She was sentenced to serve 96 hours behind bars for what was her second DUI charge in two years, and must complete her jail time by 28 September (07).

The 25-year-old was given 21 days to enroll in a drug and alcohol program, has to pay a fine of over $2,000, and was placed on probation for three years. If Richie violates the terms of her probation, she could face another year in jail.
