J.K. Rowling has declined to seek damages from a French teenager who
translated the latest Harry Potter novel and posted it online.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested in Aix-en-Provence last week
(ends10Aug07) after he posted his French translation of Harry Potter And
The Deathly Hallows online, two months ahead of the official French
release.
Rowling's French publishers Gallimard said charges against the boy have
been dropped after Rowling said she wouldn't pursue legal action against
him because he didn't make any money from the illegal translation.
