Former supermodel Tyra Banks
has fired her manager Benny Medina, according to reports.
The star confirms she has parted company with manager Benny Medina and
his agency Handprint Entertainment, but claims the split is amicable.
A joint statement issued by both parties reads, "Tyra Banks is a
highly regarded artist, entrepreneur and producer, and I respect her
vision for developing her own bankable brand."
"Tyra and Handprint Entertainment look forward to the opportunity
to work together on existing or new ventures. This is a great thing for
everyone involved."
However, a source from TelePictures - which syndicates Banks' talk show
- tells the New York Daily News she was angry "his (Medina's) perk
list is bigger than hers. Everything from private jets and votive candles
that the staff has to light before he gets to the set. He forgot who the
star was."
But a representative from Telepictures has refuted the claims, and
insists Medina will continue to have a say in Banks' career: "We have
a good relationship with Benny, and we appreciate his contributions to the
show. He will continue as an executive consultant on the show."
