WHAT WE LEARNED ABOUT AMERICANS THIS WEEK ON THE CBS PRIMETIME GAME SHOW "POWER OF 10"

The following was revealed on the POWER OF 10 episode broadcast on Wednesday, Aug. 22

*      41% of Americans think that Americans should be allowed to own automatic weapons

*      16% of Americans have quit a job after just one day of work

*      30% of Americans said they’ve had to use trigonometry since leaving high school

*      15% of Americans said they have been attracted to their first cousin

*      79% of Americans think a woman should take her husband’s last name when she gets married

*      27% of Americans said George Bush should have released Scooter Libby from his prison sentence

*      57% of Americans believe marijuana is less dangerous than alcohol

*      38% of Americans think there should be a mandatory cutoff age for elderly drivers

*      68% of Americans think their mother-in-law is a good cook

*      37% of Americans currently live in the town or city where they grew up

*      80% of Americans would rather be ugly and smart, than good-looking and dumb

*      81% of Americans are not afraid to go to the dentist

*      71% of Americans said rap music is degrading to women

*      58% of American men have flashed their middle finger at a fellow motorist while driving

POWER OF 10 is a high-stakes game that challenges contestants to guess the behaviors, opinions and lifestyle choices of the American public for the chance to win $10 million dollars. POWER OF 10 airs Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Drew Carey serves as host and Michael Davies is the executive producer for Embassy Row in association with Sony Pictures Television.
