Britney Spears' former manager Larry Rudolph has been served a subpoena
after spending weeks trying to avoid the inevitable.
Rudolph, who was sacked by Spears at the beginning of 2007, went public
with his plans to avoid getting served by the pop star's ex-husband Kevin
Federline last week (ends24Aug07), but accepted he wouldn't be able to
hide forever.
In an email to Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest over the weekend
(25-26Aug07), Rudolph, confessed he was keen to avoid having to testify
against the Toxic singer in her upcoming child custody battle with
ex-husband Kevin Federline.
The dancer/rapper's legal team has already rounded up the pop star's
cousin Alli Sims, former bodyguard Damien Shippen and ex-assistant Shannon
Funk and served them with subpoenas to testify - and now he can add
Rudolph to the list.
He was subpoenaed on Thursday afternoon (30Aug07) at the Sunset Tan
salon in West Los Angeles, which he co-owns.
The salon's assistant manager Erin Tietsort tells U.S. TV show Access
Hollywood her boss was served by a business-like brunette: "We asked
her who she was but she just said she had a meeting. After he (Rudolph)
walked in he said, 'Can I help you?' and she just handed the papers and
left.
"He had no idea... You could tell he wasn't too happy about
it."
