Paula Abdul has prompted rumors she is on the verge of canceling her singing comeback - by axing two U.S. TV performances. American Idol judge Abdul was due to perform live on U.S. morning show Today back in April (08), but pulled out.

She rescheduled the gig for August (08), but has also cancelled that date, citing "other commitments".

However, her failure to offer an alternative date has sent gossips into a spin, suspecting she is struggling to recapture the voice that topped the charts in the 1990s.

A source tells the New York Post, "She can't perform live. Her voice on the single is so mixed and electronicized you don't know what she really sounds like any more." A spokesperson for Abdul has refused to comment.
