Michael Bolton is offering his ex-girlfriend Nicollette Sheridan a shoulder to cry on as she tries to cope with her very public split from fiancé Niklas Soderblom.

The When a Man Loves a Woman singer dated the actress a decade ago and he's keen to prove that lovers can become friends by supporting Sheridan through her personal crisis.

The former couple have been spotted out and about in Hollywood.

It's not the first ex Sheridan has turned to since deciding to call off her romance with Swede Soderblom - she was also spotted dining with convicted drug dealer Simon Main in October (05).
